On Monday night Forward Kris Joseph scored 17 points as Syracuse recovered from its first loss of the season by beating Cincinnati 60-53.

 

The Orange used a late 12-2 run to pull away from the Bearcats who tried to use the energy of their first homesellout to get a signature win.

 

Coach Jim Boeheim came away with career victory No. 877, moving him ahead of Adolph Rupp into sole possession of fourth place on the Division I coaching list.

 

Cashmere Wright scored 17 points for the Bearcats, while Yancy Gates posted his seventh double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

 

In the only game on Tuesday’s schedule, Marquette hosts USF at 8 p.m. The Golden Eagles have won four of five BIG EAST meetings against the Bulls, including a 59-58 victory in Tampa last season.
