On Wednesday’s slate, Connecticut and Georgetown will try to bounce back from losses this past weekend. The Hoyas have won the last three meetings at the Verizon Center, but the Huskies beat Georgetown twice last year, including 79-62 in the BIG EAST Championship second round.
Providence, still searching for its second league win, hosts Rutgers. The Friars are trying to end a four-game losing streak. The Scarlet Knights, at 4-5 in the league, are coming off a victory over Cincinnati and will try to match last season’s BIG EAST win total.
DePaul also wants victories to validate its obvious improvement. The Blue Demons, who won only once in BIG EAST play last year, host St. John’s. The young Red Storm squad is coming off an 83-76 loss at Duke.
