Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Rice, Villanova, Jr., A
Rice netted a career-high six goals to lead Villanova to a 13-12 overtime win against Bucknell. He sparked the go-ahead goal with 2:56 remaining in regulation to give Villanova a 12-11 advantage before the Bison were able to tie it up to send the game into overtime. He leads the team with eight goals this year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Dominic Lamolinara, Syracuse, So., G
Lamolinara helped lead Syracuse to a 10-9 win against Army on Feb. 26 at the Carrier Dome. He came into the game in the second half, with the Orange down 5-4. Lamolinara allowed four goals, just one goal coming in the last quarter. He made four saves in the final quarter and with two seconds left, he stopped he made a stop that gave SU the win. It was the first win of his career.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Brian Casey, Georgetown, Jr., M
Casey scored three goals and dished out an assist for four points in a 16-11 loss to No. 7 Maryland. His three goals were scored on four shots.
Jake Nolan, Providence, Sr., A
Nolan scored six goals in a 13-5 victory in the Friars’ home opener against Wagner on Feb. 25.
Will Mangan, Rutgers, Sr., M
Mangan had seven points in a 1-1 week for the Scarlet Knights. He had three goals and two assists for a five-point game in a 9-5 win at Wagner on Feb. 21. He recorded a pair of goals in an 11-7 loss to UMBC on Feb. 26.
Luke Cometti, Syracuse, Jr., M
Cometti scored a career-best two goals, including the eventual gamewinner, in the Orange’s 10-9 victory against Army on Feb. 26. Both of his goals came in the last 16:30 of the contest.
Dan Gutierrez, Villanova, Sr., G
Gutierrez grabbed a career-high 15 saves, including nine in the first half in a 13-12 overtime victory against Bucknell.
