The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Championship presented by American Eagle Outfitters is introducing Chalk Talk, a new event that debuts at the 2012 tournament. Well-respected panelists from around the women’s basketball game will headline the event, which runs from 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5, prior to the semifinals of the tournament. The event is private with attendees limited to those who have won tickets.

The panelists will discuss the state of women’s basketball, as well as participate in a question and answer session. Scheduled to attend this inaugural event are a combination of informed and influential panelists who have helped to shape and grow the game: Val Ackerman, Founding President of the WNBA, US Representative to the International Basketball Federation, Adjunct Professor at Columbia University; Renee Brown, WNBA Chief of Basketball Operations and Player Relations; Carol Callan, USA Basketball Team Director; Kathy Meehan, NCAA Women’s Basketball Committee, St. John’s Associate VP for Athletics/SWA; Carol Stiff, ESPN VP Programming & Acquisitions; and Mike Thibault, Head Coach for the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun. This panel combines more than 100 years of basketball knowledge and insight into the inner-workings of the sport.
The discussion and Q&A will be moderated by BIG EAST Television Network analyst LaChina Robinson.
