PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Notre Dame women’s rowing team’s second varsity eight defeated Indiana, Louisville and Purdue at Eagle Creek, in Indianapolis, Ind., to claim the season’s first BIG EAST Boat of the Week award.
The team of coxswain Christina Dines, Ingrid Woelfel, Lauren Tharp, Rose Doerfler, Anna Kottkamp, Paige Aiello, Kelsey Haddad, Teresa Blumenstein and Teresa Rubinger claimed the heat victory after crossing the line at 6:34.66. Indiana finished second at 6:42.00 followed by Louisville (6:46.07) and Purdue (7:13.14). The team improved by almost 10 seconds from their finish of 6:44.25 in their first race of the weekend at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio.
