PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Loyola women’s lacrosse sophomore Marlee Paton has earned the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 10, while Syracuse junior Becca Block has earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Paton earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors after amassing 15 points, including nine goals and six assists, in two wins last week. The sophomore tied her personal best of nine points by matching her career high of five goals to go along with a game-high four assists in a win over Rutgers. In a win over Villanova, Paton recorded six points, including four goals. She leads the team with 65 points on 37 goals and 28 assists.
Block was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week following three wins, including two conference victories. The junior helped limit opponents to 7.7 goals per game over the three contests and had eight ground balls, eight draw controls and six caused turnovers. Block also had five points, including three goals. She helped the Orange limit opponents to just 7.0 goals per game in league action. Syracuse beat then-No. 13/13 Cornell, Louisville and Cincinnati last week. All three were held to less than 10 goals.

Recorded seven draw controls, six ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 2-0 week.
Ellie Hilling, Notre Dame, Jr., GK
Totaled 29 saves in a 2-0 week; made 11 saves and tied a career high with six ground balls in a win over then-No. 19/18 Vanderbilt. Hilling also tied a career high with 16 saves in a 7-6 overtime win at then-No. 15/12 Georgetown.

Totaled 20 points in three games, including 14 goals; scored seven goals and one assist in a 22-5 win over Cincinnati
Megan Sullivan, Notre Dame, Sr., M
Had three goals, four ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 2-0 week with wins over ranked opponents; scored two key goals in the second half to help seal the win over then-No. 19/18 Vanderbilt.
Brittney Testa, Connecticut, Jr., GK
Had 22 saves, seven ground balls and an 8.50 goals-against avergae in a 2-0 week; made 11 saves and grabbed six ground balls in a 17-8 win over Cincinnati.

BIG EAST Championship Taking Shape – Three teams have secured spots in the 2012 BIG EAST Championship: Syracuse, Loyola and Notre Dame, but only one seed has been secured. Notre Dame will be the No. 3 seed. Syracuse and Loyola square off on Friday night for the No. 1 seed. Either Georgetown or Rutgers grabs the No. 4 seed, the teams play on Apr. 28 at 1 p.m. ET, on the CBS Sports Network.
Four Teams in the NCAA RPI Top-20 – Syracuse leads the BIG EAST contingent atop the latest NCAA RPI rankings holding the No. 1 spot for the first time in school history. The Orange (13-2, 6-0 BIG EAST) are riding a 12-game winning streak and have knocked off seven teams ranked in the top-20 this season. Notre Dame (12-2, 5-2 BIG EAST) checks in at No. 7 in the RPI rankings, while Loyola (10-4, 6-0 BIG EAST) is No. 16 and Georgetown (8-6, 4-3 BIG EAST) is No. 19.
