PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Notre Dame women’s rowing team’s varsity four earned BIG EAST Boat of the Week honors for the second-straight week. The squad won two races against ranked teams while competing at the Stanford Women’s Invitational in Redwood Shores, Calif.
The crew of coxswain Danni Schneider, Kelsey Sekanick, Stella Willoughby, Katie Suyo and Joanna Poinsatte defeated No. 5 Southern California in the first race on April 21. Crossing the line in a time of 7:17.84 the margin of victory was 2.67 seconds. In the second race of the day the Irish defeated No. 11 Stanford with a time of 7:28.1. The margin of victory was over 14 seconds against the Cardinals. The Irish currently rank 15th in the April 25 CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll.
