PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Cincinnati senior outfielder Braden Kline was selected as the BIG EAST Baseball Player of the Week while Connecticut senior David Fischer was named BIG EAST Baseball Pitcher of the Week after the final weekend of regular-season play.
Kline batted .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles and one home run as part of a 2-1 week that included a series win against Georgetown. He recorded seven RBIs and scored four runs to go with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage.
Fischer matched his career-long outing with an eight-inning performance to pick up his fourth win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame on Thursday. He struck out a career-high 10 batters and struck out the side, all looking, in the fifth inning. Fischer scattered three hits, allowed just one unearned run and walked only one.
