Tuesday Night Action
The BIG EAST went 1-1 in nonconference play on Tuesday night. Rutgers continued its hot streak by defeating Lehigh in five sets (3-2) while Georgetown fell to Delaware, 3-0.
The Scarlet Knights have now won nine straight and maintain their lead in the conference standings. They are currently 11-1 and have not lost since August 25 against Miami.
BIG EAST in the Polls
With two more wins over nationally ranked teams, the Louisville Cardinals moved up 12 spots in the AVCA Division 1 Coaches Top-25 Poll to claim the 12th spot. They are now 8-1 after defeating No. 11 Purdue and No. 20 Illinois last week.
Marquette, with a win over No. 23 Michigan, received votes for the first time this season and are now 7-2 overall.
The Week Ahead
The BIG EAST is back in action tonight when Seton Hall (8-1) hosts Princeton (2-3) in South Orange, N.J. at 7 p.m. Following tonight’s match, the conference concludes its last weekend of nonconference tournaments with 15 matches beginning Friday followed by 25 on Saturday and two on Sunday.
