Cincinnati was one of six teams nationally that had a Week 1 bye, but the Bearcats showed little rust in their season-opener — a 34-10 win against Pittsburgh at Nippert Stadium … The Bearcats scored on their first play from scrimmage for the second consecutive season — RB George Winn went 58 yards for a touchdown on the first play of Cincinnati’s first drive against Pittsburgh; former Bearcat RB Isaiah Pead scored on a 40-yard run against Austin Peay on the first play of the 2011 season-opener … QB Munchie Legaux enters Saturday’s game as the BIG EAST rushing leader after he ran for 117 yards against Pittsburgh … Legaux also completed 14 of 28 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns … WR Ralph David Abernathy IV, who was primarily a special teams standout last year, has emerged as a regular part of the offense with two touchdown catches against Pitt … Abernathy had four catches for 71 yards to go with five catches for 20 yards … DE Walter Stewart had nine tackles, two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss to go with a forced fumble against Pittsburgh … LB Greg Blair had a team-high 10 tackles with an interception … After leading the nation in tackles for loss last year, the Bearcats had 10 tackles behind the line of scrimmage against Pittsburgh, including six sacks.
