Wednesday night in the BIG EAST
Last night in BIG EAST volleyball action, Seton Hall swept Princeton for its sixth straight win. The Pirates are 9-1 overall with the second highest winning percentage in the league (.900). Sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe controlled the offense by dishing out 25 assists while sophomore Simona Sekulova hit .450 with a team-high 10 kills. Seton Hall won by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-10.
The BIG EAST vs. the Rest
With a Seton Hall win over Princeton last night, the BIG EAST improved to 88-49 against nonconference opponents with a .642 winning percentage.
This Weekend
The conference concludes its final weekend of nonconference tournament play beginning Friday with 15 matches followed by 25 on Saturday and two on Sunday. DePaul and Marquette will host USC Upstate and Pacific respectively at noon to get the weekend rolling.
On Saturday, No. 12 Louisville (8-1) will get another tough test when they host Miami (Fla.) (7-1) at 7:30 p.m. Miami (Fla.) missed this week’s AVCA Division I Coaches Top-25 poll by eight points.
