Conference play begins this week as league games start on Saturday. The matchups are highlighted by a top-25 contest at 7 p.m. when No. 2/3 Connecticut hosts No. 13/13 St. John’s at Marrone Stadium, where the capacity crowd of 5,100 has already been sold out. The Red Storm are unbeaten in their first eight games for the first time since 2008 and have outscored their opposition 14-4. The Huskies are unbeaten this season at 6-0-1 and have collected four of those wins at home. The teams have gone 4-4-4 in the last 12 meetings.
Thursday Night’s Game
After sitting out the last two games with a sprained knee, Kyle Soroka returned to the lineup for Villanova and had an immediate effect, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win against La Salle on Sept. 20. Villanova is next in action on Sept. 25 against visiting Temple at 4:00 p.m.
