Wednesday Night in the BIG EAST
Cincinnati’s difficult nonconference schedule continued last night as the Bearcats were swept by No. 14 Dayton by the scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-18. Cincinnati has now faced nine top-25 teams this season.
The Bearcats are 9-16 overall and 7-4 in league play. The loss had no effect on their standing in the conference as they look to retain their BIG EAST Championship crown. They remain tied with Connecticut in fourth.
Last night, seniors Jordanne Scott and Becca Refenes led the team in kills with 11 and 10, respectively. Classmate Rachel Rohlfs dished out 30 assists and junior Emily MacIntyre added a match-high 23 digs.
What to Watch
On Saturday, Nov. 3, Pittsburgh (14-12, 5-7 BIG EAST) will host USF (13-12, 5-7 BIG EAST) in a crucial match that will put the losing team further away from earning a BIG EAST Championship berth. The Panthers are coming off a 3-2 win against DePaul while USF has dropped three of its last four league games.
