BIG EAST teams went 5-0 Tuesday, giving the league a combined 23-2 record in the 2012-13 season. The .920 winning percentage is the best of any Division I conference thus far.
In an otherwise busy week for the BIG EAST, Wednesday’s schedule lists just one game as Georgetown hosts Liberty at 7 p.m. on the BIG EAST Network. The game is a regional-round contest as part of the Legends Classic, and it will be the first meeting on the hardwood between Georgetown and Liberty.
The Hoyas opened the season with a 61-55 win against Duquesne in a Legends Classic game that was highlighted by a 19-point effort by freshman guard D’Vanutes Smith-Rivera. Smith-Rivera was 6-of-7 from the field and 4-of-4 from 3-point range against the Dukes.
The schedule picks up again Thursday, with five unbeaten BIG EAST teams in action.
