THE GAME
Friday’s game will be the 37th meeting between Syracuse and Temple in a series that dates to 1944 … The Orange hold a 25-10-1 series lead, though the Owls have taken two of the last three meetings … The schools met annually from 1988-2004, but haven’t played since … The last meeting saw Temple QB Walter Washington rush for 185 yards and three touchdowns as the Owls prevailed 34-24 at Lincoln Financial Field … Temple coach Steve Addazio spent four years (1995-98) as an assistant at Syracuse, during which time the Orange won three BIG EAST titles … Addazio’s son, Louie, is a sophomore tight end at Syracuse.

Temple improved to 4-6 with last week’s 63-32 win at Army … The game against Syracuse will be the regular-season finale for Temple, which has an 11-game schedule this season … RB Montel Harris enters the final game of his storied career on the heels of his best performance — a 351-yard, seven-touchdown effort in the win against Army … Harris’ yardage and touchdown figures are both BIG EAST and school records … Harris entered the game at Army ranked fifth in the BIG EAST in rushing and enters the game against Syracuse as the conference leader … Harris has rushed for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns and is averaging 105.3 yards per game … QB Clinton Granger made his first career start in the win at Army and is expected to get the nod against Syracuse … WR Jalen Fitzpatrick is the leading receiver with 25 catches for 333 yards and two touchdowns …  LB Tyler Matekevich, a true freshman, is fourth in the BIG EAST in tackles (87, 8.7 per game) … K/P Brandon McManus leads the BIG EAST in punting with an average of 45.2 yards per punt … McManus is also one of the top kickers in the conference and is sixth in the league in scoring (6.6 points per game).
