Connecticut and Pittsburgh picked up their first BIG EAST victories of the year Tuesday, leaving just three teams that are without a conference win in the early part of league play.
Providence has a chance to break into the win column Wednesday as the Friars host Syracuse at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Syracuse has won five straight in the series with the Friars, however, and has won its first two BIG EAST games by an average of 18 points.
Rutgers makes the short road trip to Madison Square Garden to face St. John’s in a matchup of 1-1 teams in BIG EAST play. The Scarlet Knights will go for their first win against the Red Storm in Madison Square Garden since 1997. St. John’s has won the last eight meetings at MSG.
Louisville takes an eight-game winning streak into tonight’s matchup against Seton Hall at the Prudential Center. The Pirates have gone 8-0 on their home court this season, while the Cardinals are 2-0 in true road games this year.
USF looks for its first BIG EAST win as the Bulls host Villanova at the Sun Dome. The Bulls scored three wins against the Wildcats last year and have won four straight in the series. Villanova comes in with a six-game winning streak, including an overtime win against St. John’s in its BIG EAST opener last week.
