Cincinnati and Rutgers picked up BIG EAST wins Tuesday night as the homestanding Bearcats beat Villanova 68-50 while the Scarlet Knights held off Seton Hall 57-55 at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
Wednesday’s ledger lists three games. No. 6/7 Syracuse looks to remain alone in first place in the BIG EAST standings as the Orange visit Connecticut at the XL Center (7 p.m., ESPN). A Syracuse win would give the Orange a one-game lead in the standings, while a loss would forge a three-way tie at the top with Georgetown and Marquette. Connecticut has been tough at its home venues this season — the Huskies are 10-1 at home , including a 5-1 mark in Hartford this season.
DePaul and No. 21/21 Notre Dame meet for the second time in February when they tip at 7 p.m. ET on the BIG EAST Network. The Irish scored a 79-71 overtime win in Rosemont, Ill., Feb. 2 and have won eight straight in the series.
Providence goes for its third straight win Wednesday as the Friars head to Tampa, Fla., to face USF (9 p.m., ESPNU). The Bulls look to snap a six-game slide.
